I will be reading two sequences on Sunday 19th October at The Shakespeare Pub, Sheffield from 8 p.m. as part of the Off the Shelf Festival. ‘The Shattered Stars’ features the two poems ‘Death and the Gallant’ and ‘Jigs and Reels’. ‘Death and the Gallant’ explores Pre-Reformation wall art and its destruction from the point of view of two iconoclasts, while Jigs and Reels harnesses the energy of folk tunes: two poems are twinned together in ‘sets’. The spoken word will be accompanied by visuals by artist Paul Evans, soundscapes by Brian Lewis and music by Emma Bolland.
